away from the College. We will provide information about your course, assessments, resources, news and
announcements through these online services.
Additional pastoral support
As a Bury College University Centre student you will be entitled to:
•
Additional Learning Support (ALS): we welcome students with disabilities and/or additional support
requirements and will make every effort to support their needs. We have contacts with external bodies
and advice is provided by the ALS team on an individual, strictly confidential basis.
•
A dedicated Wellbeing and Counselling Service: available to help you with issues such as stress, anxiety,
personal relationships, gender identity, or general health and wellbeing.
•
Pastoral Support Team: we have a team on-hand to assist with student behaviour, performance
and personal issues. They work to ensure that you receive appropriate support and are always willing
to discuss any issues you may have.
•
Personal Tutor: You will be assigned a personal tutor to support you on your higher education journey.
Careers guidance
You will benefit from a dedicated Careers Guidance Advisor, who can advise you on your
future progression; utilise links with job centres and careers services; help you with
your CV; and stage mock interviews.
