massage skills as part of my course, which has
given me a great foundation for studying Sports
Rehabilitation at university.
“Sport has always been a huge part of my life.
Growing up, I played lots of sports and competed
in Irish dancing until I picked up an injury. Going
through sports rehabilitation and seeing how
much the physiotherapist helped me inspired me
to follow the same career path. After recovering,
I went on to achieve 54th in the world for my
age group, and that experience confirmed that
studying Sport was the right choice for me.
“The support from my tutors has been
outstanding. They’ve always been there whenever
I’ve needed advice and have created a friendly
environment where everyone feels comfortable
asking for help. Our class has become really
close, and that’s something I’ll definitely miss.
“I’m now progressing to the University of Salford
to study Sports Rehabilitation. As part of the
course, I’ll be spending six weeks in America
learning about rehabilitation with baseball and
lacrosse players. This course has prepared me
for my next step, and I can’t wait to continue
learning.”
“I chose the Level 3 Sport course at Bury College
because I preferred coursework to exams,
and from my first visit the staff made me feel
welcome. Throughout the course, my confidence
has grown so much. We’ve had opportunities to
organise and lead sports events for local school
pupils, where I developed leadership skills, worked
as part of a team and learnt how to coordinate
