servicing, steel fabrication and maintenance, and
seeing manufacturing on a much larger scale
really opened my eyes to the industry. Watching
experienced engineers at work and learning from
them every day taught me so much and gave
me knowledge that you simply can’t get from a
classroom alone.
“I’ve always been interested in engineering, and
with my family working in the industry, it felt
like the right career for me. At school I enjoyed
Design Technology, Maths and Science, so I
wanted a course that gave me the chance to
build on those subjects while also developing
practical, technical skills. The best thing about my
T Level has been that it isn’t just classroom-based,
I’ve spent time in the workshop using different
machines and making things that can actually be
used, which is the part I’ve enjoyed the most.

helped me build my CV, prepare for interviews
and develop the skills I needed to secure an
apprenticeship as an Apprentice Mechanical
Engineer at The Christie NHS. If you know you
