College Smart Café and help
in the Smart Shop.

WORK CHALLENGE
This is a course for those who are considering
employment. You will develop and acquire specific
transferable skills required in the competitive
world of work. You will take part in a meaningful
internal work placement by the running of a
mini-enterprise. You will be able to experience all
aspects of running the mini-enterprise, including
health and safety, finance, sales and marketing
product design and production.

STEPS TO WORK
This is a course for those who have learning
difficulties and/or disabilities who are
considering employment. You will develop and
acquire specific transferable skills required in
the competitive world of work. You will take
part in a meaningful internal work placement
by the running of the Smart Café. You may
also have the opportunity to complete an
external work placement, which matches
your aspirations and is within the
local community.

INTERNSHIP
Please note that because of national
educational developments some of these
courses may be replaced by a similar
programme of study.
This is a course for those who have an Education
Health and Care Plan and want to be employed. You
will develop and acquire specific and transferable
employment skills required in the competitive world
of work by taking part in intensive work experience
placements at different local employers, whilst
being supported by a job coach. Time
and consideration is taken to match
your working aspirations and
choices with employer’s
business needs.
